Michael Deaver farms in the Plymell and Pierceville areas in Southern Finney County. He raises wheat, milo, corn, and soybeans. He farms his own operation and also as Richards & Deaver Farms. Prior to his death, Michael's father-in-law, Harvey Richards, served on the Board of Directors of the Garden City Co-op for 12 years from 1983-1995. Michael attended North Central Kansas Area Vo-Tech. He and his wife, Carol, have two children, Lauren Lauridsen and Kyle Deaver. Michael served as an Associate Director of the Garden City Co-op from 1995 to 1997. He has been a Board Member since November 2003. In addition to serving on the Co-op Board, Michael is also a current board member of the Finney County Farm Bureau Association and past President of the Kansas State Farm Management Association. |
